My Background

My name is Hannah Cho. I’m an oboist with nearly a decade of playing experience and dozens of performances under my belt. In 2021, I founded a non-profit organization, Empowering Arts, which focuses on bringing the arts to senior citizens, children with different abilities, and underprivileged Title 1 school students through in-person music concerts and lessons as well as drawing and painting classes. In addition, I have a passion for protecting the environment, one which led me to launch Helping AwaReness In Nature (HARIN) in 2023, a project focused on upcycling denim and educating the community about sustainable fashion. As an avid researcher in the realm of data modeling, I also hope to combine computational and Earth sciences to spur positive ecological activism and policymaking.

Fun Facts About Me

  • One time, I pulled an all-nighter to make several dozen white chocolate macarons to give out to my friends on the last day of school in freshman year of high school.

  • In terms of my fashion style, I love wearing black clothing over some of my more colorful outfits. I feel “black” is super versatile, classic, and timeless. I can wear it at a concert, a professional photoshoot, church, or even a funeral.

  • Since babyhood, a Hello Kitty stuffed animal has been my loyal sleep companion. She goes wherever I go overnight. Despite how beat up she may look today, I still love her to bits. I lost her once at an Airbnb in Rome, but thankfully, the host shipped it back to us. God bless her.
